Talking really does work


But just how often do we get the chance to talk to the right person? Someone with empathy, someone who is impartial and non-judgemental, someone who is on your side, yet willing to ask you those difficult questions?

A client I recently worked with was depressed with his life and found it difficult to think about his future at college – worried about making friends and socialising. After just a few sessions with me, he was much more positive. He started college and is loving every minute of it – studying and partying!


Another client was scared to walk down the street, constantly on edge worrying that people might attack her. She soon realised this was largely because of the things that had happened to her earlier in life, and she was able to break the link. After less than ten sessions, she is now happy and confident in public.


I also helped someone deal with the death of their mother, some 10 years ago. He was suffering from delayed grief, and within a few sessions was able to release that and move forward, keeping happy memories in his mind.
